New social network site, Path, sets itself apart from the likes of Facebook and Twitter by limiting digital friendship to 50 people. The 50-person limit is backed by social science and is available on the web and as an app on the iPhone.
Illegal immigrants may pay in-state tuition in California
The California Supreme Court unanimously decided that illegal immigrants can qualify for in-state tuition at California public universities on Monday. This ruling reversed one by the state Court of Appeals and allowed the state’s universities to continue the policy.
Over 900 dead in Haiti cholera outbreak
Haiti’s month-old cholera outbreak has caused the death toll to raise to 917 and caused 14,642 to be hospitalized.
Shanghai building on fire
A 28-story building caught fire in Shanghai on Monday, killing at least 42 people and injuring more than 90. The building was under renovation when a scaffolding supposedly caught on fire and spread through the rest of the building. Over 150 families reside in the building.

President Barack Obama has decided to back India’s desire to have a permanent seat in the U.N. Security Council. The statement is to show that the United States believes India to be a rising power.
Professor loses weight on sugary diet
A professor of human nutrition at Kansas State University, Mark Haub, lost 27 pounds in just two months by eating sugary cakes. Haub’s body mass index lowered as well as his “bad” cholesterol levels.
