Two Somali teenage girls executed

Two teenage girls, one 15 and the other 16, were executed by a Somali militant group.  The two were accused of spying for the Somali government.

Virginia man arrested over Washington DC bomb plot

Virginia resident Farooque Ahmed, 34, was arrested Wednesday for plotting to bomb metro stations in Washington, DC and conspiring with al-Qaeda.


Former Argentine President dies

Nestor Kirchner, the former Argentine president, died early Wednesday morning after suffering from a heart attack.  He was 60. 

Indonesian tsunami death toll at 272

272 are dead and 412 missing in Indonesia due to the tsunami on Monday.  Rescue teams are now arriving to help in the relief effort.

China’s Foreign Ministry confirmed early Friday morning that President Hu Jintao will visit the United States at the beginning of next year.

Protests against pension reform continues in France, after the Senate passed amendments that would raise the retirement age from 60 to 62 on Friday.

A cholera outbreak in Haiti has killed 138 and sickened 1,526 people.  Waiting lines for care are long, preventing many from being treated.

Shooting at Pentagon

Early Tuesday, around five shots were fired at the Pentagon.  Police are still unaware on who fired the shots and are calling this a random incident.
